1.1. About SingStat Table Builder
The SingStat Table Builder contains statistical data series on the Singapore economy and population that you may select to build customized data tables, export them in different file formats or plot graphs and charts.
System Requirements
The SingStat Table Builder runs on popular web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari. It is best viewed at a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 728 pixels.
You will notice that the common navigation menu appears on every page. This menu allows you to access the different modules of SingStat Table Builder. Click on the hyperlink to go to the associated sections and functions. Menu

At the top right corner of each page, there are links to Contact Us, Feedback and FAQ. Find out how you may contact us via the Contact Us link. You could also make use of the Feedback form to provide comments and suggestions. For a list of the frequently asked questions, click on the FAQ link.

Using functions labelled [1] to [8], you can return to the Home Page [1], view the list of data with recent updates [2], perform searches [3], view the metadata and glossary items [4], access the Multi-Tables Download function [5], access the API function [6], refer to the User Guide [7], as well as the Notations used in SingStat Table Builder [8].

[ 11 ] - Print Page
[ 12 ] - Send Email
[ 13 ] - Open Contextual Help

Quick tools [9] to [13] on the right hand side are for adjusting font size [9 and 10], printing the page [11], sending email [12] and displaying contextual help [13]. Depending on the page you are at, you will only be able to see the applicable quick tools. For example, quick tools [11] and [12] are available in the table and chart view pages, and not in other pages.

1.2. Getting Help
Help is readily available. The online User Guide may be accessed from any page by clicking on the User Guide hyperlink on the common navigation menu. Contextual Help is also available from each page. Simply click on Contextual Help on the extreme right of the common navigation menu to access the content of the contextual help.
You can access the help topics from the main menu of User Guide. Simply click on the hyperlinks to go to the associated help topics.

At the top of each topic page are hyperlinks to the various sections of that topic. Simply click the hyperlinks to go to the relevant sections.
Top links

There is a navigation bar in the bottom of each topic page. You can click on the hyperlinks go to Previous topic [1], Next topic [2] or go to homepage of User Guide [3].

At the end of each section, there is a quick link ( Back to top ) to bring you back to the top of the topic page.
Sample Steps
To open help topic of Basic Search function.

Step 1. Open Home Page of SingStat Table Builder.

Step 2. Click on User Guide hyperlink on the system menu. The homepage of User Guide is displayed.

Step 3. Click Basic Search hyperlink in the help menu. The help topic of Basic Search function will be displayed.

1.3. Creating and Customising Data Tables and Charts
This section provides a brief overview of the main functions of SingStat Table Builder. You may refer the corresponding topics for more details on the functionalities.
There are 3 steps to Creating a table
Step 1 of 3
From the Home Page, select the Subject Group (i.e. Economy or Population), Subject (e.g. National Accounts, Prices), Topic (e.g. Gross Domestic Product, Expenditure on Gross Domestic Product), Table Title (e.g Expenditure on Gross Domestic Product at 2010 Market Prices, Annual).

You may select up to 2 tables with data of the same frequency (e.g "Table1, Annual" and "Table2, Annual").

Click on Continue when you have completed your selection(s).

Step 2 of 3
The variables of the table title(s) selected will be displayed. Select the variable(s) and time period(s) required and click on Create to generate the table. Alternatively, click on Back to go back to the Home Page.


Step 3 of 3
The data table containing the selected variable(s) and time period(s) will be displayed in the Table Customisation and Chart Plotting screen. You may make use of the table customisation functions and chart plotting functions to customise the data table or plot chart. Alternatively, click on Back to go back to Step 2 of 3.

Customise table
Customise the data table using the following functions:

Display – Partial Display, Custom Sort and Freeze
Compute – Summation, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Division by 10^N, Convert Value to Percentage and Compute Percentage Change

Click on menu item to customise table.

Plot and customise chart
To plot a chart, click on the Chart menu item. In the Chart Customisation pop–up screen, select the chart type and chart properties. Then click on OK to plot chart or apply the selected chart properties.

The resulting chart will appear as follows :
